Songwriting
Hey guys
How are you all!?
So the last post I made, I said that when I procrastinate I like to divert to music and songwriting.
Sooooooo I thought that I might share with you all how I go about doing this!
Tips and Tricks
1. Firstly I have to be in a 'songwriting mood'.
- I believe songwriting is not something you can force. The best songs I have written have come when I was just singing random stuff while mucking around on the piano.
- I find that when I surround myself with people, or expose myself to different situations, I experience convicting emotions meaning that lyrics and melody come easiest :)
2. The more you do it the easier it comes
- If you give yourself opportunity to be free in the moment and sing when and what you want, the quantity of new material grows significantly.
- Also it's a good way of expressing how you feel and I find it is a good stress reliever.
3. You won't remember it later so write/record it now.
- Honestly the amount of times I have gotten out of bed at 12 pm at night and gone and sang into my phone with a croaky as voice and eyes barely open is uncountable...
- The best advice I can give is have your phone on record even if you think you will remember it because you never do.
Anyway I hope that helps you all and gives you some ideas when it comes to songwriting!
Lot's of love, Eilis xx
